Assistant Professor, MAE
Kyle Yoshida is an Assistant Professor of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he leads the Mechatronics for Outreach, Haptics, Agriculture, and Living Applications (Mohala) Lab. He earned his S.B. in Bioengineering and a secondary in African Studies from Harvard University, and his M.S. and Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University as an NSF Graduate Research Fellow, researching soft robots and mobile tactile displays. He was a Washington Research Foundation Postdoctoral Fellow at Washington State University, where he developed soft robotic systems for agriculture and human interaction. His research focuses on the design of soft robots and haptic technologies with applications in agriculture, education, and healthcare. He is also the founder of Honua Scholars, a Hawaii-based STEM mentorship nonprofit that supports students through workshops, conferences, and research writing programs.
